“What I learned about my body & the MOL” Seth Brennock Bell 3

I learned that eating a lot of carbohydrates before a big wrestling tournament could be a very good thing. This is because Carbohydrates can give you very good quick energy. Although eating complex carbs could be very beneficial for you, You should not eat simple carbs including, white breads and sugars. This do not give you the proper spurt of energy because once that has passed you will feel lousy.

I learned that carbohydrates were mainly for quick energy and that it mainly stays in your body for 14 hours until used. The monomer of carbohydrates are monosaccharides. So when you carboload the night before a game the carbohydrates you ate the night before will only help if the game is earlier the next day. Carboloading won't help if you wait longer then 14 hours but if you eat lots of carbohydrates throughout the day then it will help you.

I also learned that the barbarian diet is not going to help you. Eating only protein wont help you because you need all kind of food in your diet. You need a variety so you can get the 8 amino acids that you provide for your body through your food. There are 22 different amino acids but they combine in different ways so there are many. The food we eat are broken down by many different chemical reactions.

I also learned about saturated and unsaturated fats and how unsaturated fats are good for you because they have double bonds and saturated aren't because they only have single bonds.
